Whom
should I call with service/warranty questions or concerns with
my SVT vehicle? |
 |
If your
SVT vehicle requires service, any Ford dealer can provide
necessary parts and service. Check your Warranty Guide to
find out which parts and services are covered. |
 |
Why was
there no Cobra produced for the 2000 model year? |
 |
The
reason for the cancellation is simply that our top priority has
been our 1999 Cobra owners. Our focus and resources - and those
of our SVT dealers - have been directed to the 1999 Cobra owner
notification program. Rather than rushing to produce a limited
number of 2000 models - and risking production/manufacturing
issues by hurrying - we're choosing to focus our efforts on the
timely production of the 2001 SVT Mustang Cobra. |

How do I
obtain the Certificate of Authenticity for my SVT vehicle? |
 |

All new vehicle owners receive a Certificate of Authenticity.
Mailing of these begins 60 days after the completion of the
vehicles' model year production run. This mailing continues
until all certificates have been processed.

All
used vehicle owners need to provide SVT Headquarters a copy of
official documentation containing the vehicle identification
number, your name and current address. Within 10 days of receipt
of the information, a certificate will be mailed. This
documentation can be mailed or faxed to:

 |
Does the
High Altitude Principal Use or the California Emission option
affect the performance of my SVT vehicle? |
 |
No. There
is no performance difference for SVT vehicles equipped with
either option. |
 |
What is
the recommended break-in procedure for my SVT vehicle? |
 |
SVT
recommends that you drive your SVT vehicle easy the first 1,500
miles, combining highway and city routes. Refrain from using the
upper rpm range. As the miles accumulate, stretch the engine out
to use more of the available rpm. Also, do not to use the brakes
aggressively in the first 300 miles to give the brake linings a
chance to properly break in. |
 |
What type
of motor oil does SVT recommend? |
 |
Use SAE
5W-30 motor oil certified for gasoline engines by the American
Petroleum Institute and meeting Ford Specification WSS-M2C153-G,
such as Motorcraft Super Premium SAE 5W30. |
 |
What is
the recommended tire inflation pressure for the SVT products? |
 |
Adjust the
tire pressure to the recommended specifications found on the
Safety Compliance Certification Label located on the inside
driver's side door or on the interior of the glove box door. |
 |
Are
replacement window stickers available? |
 |
Only the
original selling dealer can regenerate a window sticker, and
they are able to go back only seven years. SVT can tell you who
the original selling dealer was. |
